PLAGIARISM AND IMPROPER BORROWING
The scientific journal Abai Chemical Sciences (ACS) adheres to the principles of academic integrity and strictly opposes all forms of plagiarism and improper borrowing.
Plagiarism is understood as the use of ideas, text, data, images, tables, figures, or other research results of another author without proper acknowledgment, as well as the presentation of someone else’s work as one’s own.
Improper borrowing includes, but is not limited to:
- verbatim copying of text without quotation marks and appropriate citation;
- paraphrasing of another author’s work without proper reference;
- self-plagiarism, including the reuse of substantial parts of one’s own previously published work without disclosure;
- duplicate or redundant publication;
- unauthorized use of data, illustrations, or results obtained by other researchers.
All manuscripts submitted to Abai Chemical Sciences (ACS) are subject to mandatory plagiarism screening using specialized plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with an unacceptable level of textual similarity or evidence of unethical borrowing may be rejected without peer review or at any stage of the editorial process.
If plagiarism or improper borrowing is identified before publication, the manuscript will be rejected. If such violations are discovered after publication, the journal reserves the right to issue corrections, expressions of concern, or to retract the article in accordance with Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines.
Authors are fully responsible for the originality of their manuscripts and for ensuring that all sources are properly cited. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in editorial sanctions, including notification of the authors’ affiliated institutions.
