REVIEW POLICY

The journal «ABAI CHEMICAL SCIENCES» utilizes a double-blind peer review process, whereby the identities of authors and reviewers remain anonymous at all stages of manuscript review. The review process is conducted in accordance with the principles of publication ethics and the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Manuscripts are submitted through the journal's electronic editorial and publishing system. All materials must comply with the journal's requirements for formatting, article structure, and publication ethics.

At the initial stage, the editors conduct a technical and scientific review of the manuscript, including verification of compliance with the journal's scope, formatting requirements, originality of the text, and the absence of plagiarism, duplicate publications, and other violations of publication ethics. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's requirements may be rejected without being sent for review.

Manuscripts that successfully pass the preliminary review are sent to at least two independent reviewers with scientific expertise in the relevant field of research. Upon receiving an invitation, the reviewer evaluates their suitability for the review based on their competence, absence of conflicts of interest, and professional workload. A decision on acceptance or refusal is made within 7 days of receiving the invitation. If accepted, the reviewer is given 10 days to prepare an expert opinion. If rejected, the editors appoint a new reviewer.

Reviewers are selected based on their academic qualifications, publication activity, and absence of conflicts of interest. Reviewers are not allowed to review if they are related to the authors through joint publications, their place of work, or other circumstances that could affect the objectivity of the review. Reviewers are assigned by the editors through an electronic system, taking into account their scientific specialization, academic qualifications, publication activity, and research interests. A subject-based search system is used to select reviewers, generating a list of specialists matching the profile of the submitted manuscript.

Reviewers evaluate:

- scientific novelty,

- relevance,

- methodological validity of the study,

- quality of presentation of results,

- correctness of conclusions,

- compliance of the article with the scope of the journal,

- compliance with academic style requirements.

The review process is confidential, and manuscript materials are not disclosed to third parties.

Based on the review results, one of the following decisions is made:

- accept the article for publication;

- accept the article after corrections;

- send the article for re-review;

- reject the article.

If revisions are necessary, the reviewers' comments are sent to the author. The revised version of the article may be re-submitted for review. Authors have the right to submit a reasoned appeal of the editorial decision. If the revisions are rejected, the author is obligated to notify the editorial board. If a revised manuscript is not submitted within 10 days of the review submission and there is no information about the rejection, the article will be withdrawn from consideration, and the author will be notified accordingly.

The final decision on publication is made by the editorial board based on the reviewers' recommendations. After the decision is made, the author will be notified of the review results. If the manuscript is rejected, the author will receive a reasoned rejection.
